Internet Scam nabbed for trying to blackmail Mrs Tinu Abiola
An Internet scam suspect, Elom Nzube, says he hacked into the Twitter account of a Tanzanian, Dr. Reginald Remengi, in order to “just impersonate” him.
Nzube, 25, reportedly reached out to Mrs. Tinu Abiola, the Managing Director, HTM International Nigeria Ltd, a friend of Remengi.
The suspect was paraded by the police in Abuja on Friday for allegedly blackmailing Abiola and attempting to extort $5,000 from her.
He was said to have also hacked into Abiola’s Twitter accounts and threatened to tarnish her image if she did not pay him the said amount.
Nzube admitted to hacking into Abiola’s Twitter account, but denied extorting money from her.
He said, “I hacked into Dr Remengi’s Twitter account and I used it to chat with Abiola while posing as Remengi, but I didn’t extort any money from her. What happened was that somebody sent a link to me, which he used to hack my Twitter account. I suspected that Abiola must have sent the link to me because immediately I clicked on it, I couldn’t access my account again.
“So I hacked into Remengi’s account and pretended to be him while chatting with Abiola. I can no longer access my PayPal account, where I have $700 which I wanted to use to rent an apartment.”
Nzube, a barber, claimed that he generated the money in his PayPal account from marketing health products online.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Kolawole, said Abiola petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, on December 1, 2015, after Nzube attempted to extort money from her.
She said, “On the strength of the petition, detectives assigned to carry out investigation into the case found out that the suspect fraudulently fabricated a story using his professional knowledge in computer applications to design a human skull, attached same to the photograph of the complainant and created a web page with Vanguard newspapers media logo, which he used to blackmail the petitioner internationally.”
According to her, the suspect confessed to have blackmailed several suspects locally and internationally “among who are Prof. Toyin Ajao, a lecturer at the University of Pretoria, South Africa; Senator Raji Rauf, and Sam Kurk of England.”
Kolawole advised Nigerians to be diligent in keeping their social accounts passwords to avoid falling prey to Internet fraudsters.

The Boko Haram attack last Saturday,January 30 on Dalori, a village which lies about 12 km (seven miles) from the northern city of Maiduguri has left over 86 persons or more dead, including children.
The Islamic militant group dressed in military uniform stormed the village and opened fire and later set some huts ablaze with people inside.
A survivor, Ibrahim Muhammad ,who had hidden himself in a tree during the attack said he watched Boko Haram fighters fire bomb huts and heard the screams of children burning to death.
It was also reported that troops arrived at Dalori around 8:40pm on Saturday but were unable to overcome the attackers, who were better armed.
However, the Boko Haram fighters only retreated after reinforcements arrived with heavier weapons, according to survivors,Alamin Bakura and Malam Masa Dalori, a community leader, both of whom relatives were either killed or severally injured during the attack.
On Sunday, survivors of the attack complained it had taken too long for help to arrive from nearby Maiduguri and said they feared another attack.

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka says:I know we are going to suffer
Last Saturday, 30th January, the people showed much love for the man of God,Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka as they turned out in mass to escort him to his new parish,Our Lady Parish in Emene, Enugu, where he will be assisting another priest.
His transfer became a controversial issue in the Catholic church following his recent prophecies about the prediction of the 2015 election.Considering his long time service in the Catholic church,it is considerate to make him a parish priest instead of the assistance.
This what the man of God had to say while handing over to the new parish priest :
“I know we are going to suffer; between now and few months to come, I am going to suffer; I am going to suffer because I have no place to lay my head; I am going to suffer because I have no place to keep the Ministry’s assets; I know I am going to suffer; fortunate going to suffer because I have no ly it’s going to happen in the month of Lent; so I am going to use my exit here to observe the Lent. But Jesus said it to His apostles in John 16:20, ‘You will be sorrowful and the world will be rejoicing but very soon I will turn your sorrows to joy.’ So I am waiting for that moment because for now I know we are going to suffer. The Adoration Ministry is passing through suffering right now; even though I have accepted it as the will of God; it is the will of God through suffering; it is a mega suffering. But however, the grace of God will carry us all; even though some of you may pray that God should remove this thorn from us, the scripture says ‘His grace is sufficient for us; for its even in your weakness that the power of God is demonstrated. So we are moving but don’t forget the scriptures, ‘my brothers they make me keeper of vineyards, my own vineyard I keepeth not. All these while we have been keeping vineyards, building for Christ The King Parish…Bishop Gbuji asked them, how much …but because I don’t want to disclose my charity, they can’t keep that account. How many trailer loads of cement came here? All the monies I made from my cassette and other private crusades all of them were used to build this church. We cannot quantify it but let God be glorified.”
“It is the will of God, and when the will of God either permissive or however, happens, nobody should question it. All you have today is Amen; so to the will of God Fr. Mbaka has said Amen".
He said he's accepting the decision of the church leadership with absolute obedience, adding that nobody should see him as an obstinate priest. He also assured them that the parish would not collapse due to his exit, and urged the members to treat his successor, Rev. Fr. Theodore Ozoamalu, well, and to assist him in any way he needs help and not allow him to cry.
“Don’t starve him; don’t allow him to suffer; in my own time I didn’t need your help because God blessed me in my own unique way and I am happy. God will keep the parish because we have fought the good fight; I am not regretting anything and the highest gift God has given here is his Holy Spirit who assisted me up till now" he said.
