Ghana plans to ban cosmetic products with bleaching components.

Cosmetic products containing skin bleaching ingredient‘hydroquinone’ is set to be ban in Ghana according to the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority.The ban which is to be effective in August this year, will ensure that the products will no longer be imported to the country. This is to deter users of the cancer-causing chemical within the Ghanaian market.

 The FDA spokesperson, James Lartey, who spoke on the ban said,all skin lightening products will be banned and products containing hydroquinone will not be allowed into the country. From August 2016, the acceptance for skin lightening products is going to be zero.
