 The 51st Eucharistic Congress day 5 started with the Lauds presided by Most Rev Romulo Valles DD of Davao. The SPC Sisters lead the chants

His Eminence Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle welcomes the world to the Philippines.”Thank you for bringing the warmth of your countries to the Philippines. This is climate change at its best. The climate of people of different tongues, nations, becoming one body in Jesus Christ. One body, one love.We should avoid cultures with widespread acceptance but incompatible with our Christian values." 

Cardinal Tagle talked about the importance of Cultural Dialogue in his catechesis.He reminded the delegates that the Real Presence of Jesus should be the content of dialogue with cultures

Here is a few of what he taught:

“The Eucharist offers an experience of another culture. The culture of convocation.The wall of alienation has been torn down at the supper of the Lord." 

He further added 

“How do we begin the dialogue? Lets begin dialogue by alienating individualism at home”.

A heartfelt message coming from Mr. Sugawara during his testimony. Reads in part:

“God, indeed, calls all of us to help one another. Are you willing to be used as an instrument too to show the love of God?”

The Eucharist for the Memorial of St Thomas Aquinas OP, was celebrated by His Eminence Peter cardinal Erdo of Budapest. He led the Hungarian delegates 

His Eminence Peter Cardinal Erdo, DD,ended the morning session.He pointed out in his homily about the presence of Christ in us--our hope of glory.He stressed-out that that the world, more than ever, needs Christ's presence.
