At the 14th convocation ceremony of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta,Ogun State, the governor of the state, Gov. Ibikunle Amosun,stated that he would employ the 30 graduands who made first class distinctions as well as sponsor those of them who wish to further their education.He also said that as an alumni of the school, he would build hostels in memory of his parents. He disclosed that the state government in collaboration with the school governing board are making plans to make the school a degree awarding institution.
“As an alumnus of this great institution, I am going to construct two hostels that would be named after my parents. “I am happy to inform you that very soon you will see the effects of the efforts we have made. We have approached the NUC and I can assure you that they will give you a special surprised very soon”
In his speech, the rector of the Polytechnic, Prof. Oladele Itiola,thanked the State governor for his contributions to the development of the institution,he also assured the governor that,the polytechnic would continue to produce diploma graduates with skilled technical and professional knowledge to meet the needs of changing trends .we are working intimately with the industry, to respond to their changing needs and thus provide a platform for collaboration in research , which could become commercially-viable innovations of tomorrow.This is where the Polytechnic is striving to stand out in the vocational and technical education we are licensed to provide”,he said.
