UTME registration fee reduced to N2,500 and valid for three years

 After a plenary debate yesterday,the Nigerian Senate has resolved to reduce the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)registration fee from N5,5000 to N2,500.They also recommended that it should be valid for at least 3 years academic year instead 1 year  .

This became necessary following the endorsement of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institution and Tertiary Education Trust Fund(TETfund)on the inquiry into the new admission policy of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).They however resolved that,the Act establishing JAMB validity of 1 year be amended to 3 years
