According to reports from Vanguard ,the police recovered 13 dead bodies while many others were severely injured with bullet wounds and burns following the attack of suspected Boko Haram members on five communities of Ladin Buta near Khaddaman Village of Jere LGA of Borno state.
The fleeing residents said the the militants armed with Ak47 and petrol bombs including Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs) invaded the communities around 7pm on Tuesday, May 24 and set ablaze many houses after killing 13 people and injuring dozens of others.
A jere division Police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the deadly attack and destruction of houses in the area. The police officer said they were helpless as there were no reinforcement from the military to repel the midnight attack. He also disclosed that the Divisional Police Officer ordered his men to visit the areas on Wednesday morning.
