The event which begins today,April 19, will run through Friday April 22.
The state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo on Monday April 18th said,the Minister of Information and Culture , Alhaji Lai Muhammed and the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun would unveil the world tallest traditional drum made in the state.
The 16 feet drum which was made by an indigene of the state is reputed to be the tallest drum in the world.It signifies the Yoruba history.
Oladipo also added that as at the time of count, 19 states in Nigeria and 50 countries which includes United States of America, United Kingdom, Germany ,China and France have indicated interest to participation through their ambassadors .
About 10 African countries which has already been endorsed by Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Federal Ministry of arts and Culture, and National centre for Arts will participate in the testival,the commissioner disclosed
He also added that, prominent Nigerian female talking drummers such as Aralola Olumuyiwa popularly known as Ara , Aanu, Olo and Adunni would make special appearances at the festival.
