Following the trial of the Senator President at the Code of Conduct Tribunal which began yesterday, April 5,where only about 23 Senators escorted him in contrast to the 81 that escorted him at the beginning of the trial .Some Senators has advised the Senate President, Bukola Saraki to resign honourably to avoid been disgraced out of office.This advise came after a special meeting he had with some of the Senators at his Maitama residence.
One of the Senators' ,name withheld who confirmed the meeting said
"I can confirm to you that at a special meeting held yesterday, we asked the Senate President to consider the option of resignation. We believe that doing so would preserve the institution of the Senate“he said
The PDP and the APC on the other hand,are busy battling themselves over who will take over the leadership of the Senate if he finally steps down
