Until 6th December 2015, when Senator Uche Ekwunife was sacked by the court of appeal in Enugu on the bases of irregularities ,she represented the Anambra Central District at the National Assembly.The court mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fresh election within 90 days.
She was declared winner of the March 28, 2015 election into the Anambra central senatorial seat and inaugurated as a senator in June 2015.
According to her,the decision to now re-run on the platform of APC,is based on the“seed of confusion” within the PDP.Owing to the latest news that the party suspended indefinitely the State congresses and primaries which was initially scheduled for the 9th of January, 2016.
