It was a celebration galore at Niima guest house in Kano, where Hajia Hajara Bashari’s Families,friends and colleagues joined her to celebrate her new rank in the Nigeria Air Force and as she was been recently promoted to the rank of wing commander in the force.
Hajia Hajara Bashari who is an indigene of Jigawa state with her new rank in the Nigerian air force would be the first woman from the core northern Nigeria to attain this feat.
Speaking at event, the chairman of the occasion who is also the commandant of the arm forces specialist hospital in Kano, Major general Patrick Falola in remarks described Hajia Bashari as an excellent administrators and tireless worker.
In her words, Hajia Hajara Bashari said the accomplishment was as a result of her hard work, and she also called on young women to join her in the military noting she is the only woman and the most senior military officer from the core north (jigawa, kano, zamfara and sokoto) in the military.
Hajia Hajara Bashari who is presently the chief matron of the Armed Forces Specialist Hospital in Kano had her early education in Lagos before proceeding to College of Arabic studies KAS in Kano.
She also attended school of nursing and midwifery Kano and later joined the Nigeria Air Force as a student nurse in 1986.
She was commissioned in into the air force in 2002 she rose through the ranks before emerging as the first woman to be wing commander from northern Nigeria in the air force.
The colourful event to mark Hajia Bashair’s accomplishment was met with various dancing steps from family members and well-wishers who graced the night.
Some of other notable people at the event include Ciroman Ringim Alhaji Usman Sayadi, Brigadier Hassan from the third Brigade in Kano, representative of Heritage Bank Jayne Akaladu, representative of Dala Orthopedic hospital among others.
